Orenchi Ramen

My favorite ramen place (not just in the Bay Area but everywhere) is still Orenchi Ramen, located at 3540 Homestead Road in Santa Clara.

I usually get the Karaage (fried chicken) but decided to try something different this time. Banbanji Salad--$8.20. It's a spiced chicken salad with sesame sauce. Great flavor but I was hoping for lettuce.

Orenchi Ramen with Tonkotsu Base--$11 for a regular. It's topped with soft boiled egg, pork, bamboo shoots, mushroom, sesame and nori (seaweed). I leave out the green onions. I love the soup--not too thick and not too thin and the noodles--just the right amount of toothiness. The soft boiled egg is the best--just the right runniness in the center.
