85 Degrees C Bakery & Cafe

85 Degrees C is a bakery in Cupertino, located at 1183 South De Anza Blvd. When it first opened, there were long lines to get in. The lines have disappeared and it's now much more enjoyable. There is a self-serve bakery where you pick your items and place it on a tray. You then take it to the cashiers to ring up your purchase. If you are picking up a cake or drinks, you do it directly with the cashiers.

The self-serve bakery gets crowded with servers replenishing and customers trying to choose their items. Because the items are constantly replenished, everything is warm and soft.

Working clockwise from the top of the plate, I chose a Coconut Twist--sweet bread with coconut filling and raisins, topped with sliced almonds ($2.00), Taro Swirl--Taiwanese sweet bread filled with taro paste and powdered sugar on top ($1.80), Garlic Cheese--soft bread topped with garlic spread, cheddar and mozzarella cheese ($1.50), Pork Sung Bun--soft Taiwanese bun topped with shredded pork and special mayo sauce ($1.50). I didn't see the mayo sauce ingredient when I bought it; otherwise, I would've skipped it. But the bun was quite delicious. The last item (the roll with purple streaks at 8:00 on the plate) was Marble Taro--sweet bread made with white sesame, almonds, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, rye flour and wheat bran, filled with taro filling ($2.50).
