After we got off the barge, we were fortunate to have friends who picked us up in Castelsarassin and drove us to Toulouse, where we picked up a car at the airport. I made reservations through Auto Europe. We picked up our Dollar rental at Hertz. We had to go inside the terminal to the Hertz desk rather than pick it up in the lot since we were not Hertz Gold members.
The problem with Auto Europe is that it's a 3rd party consolidator and the quoted price is not the final price. Read the contract carefully. There are additional fees when you drop off the car that they don't tell you when you pick up the car.
