Le Florentin

Dinner on the night we arrived was at Le Florentin, right next to the Abbey.

Amuse bouche of cucumbers with cheese (tasted like Boursin), gazpacho and pizza.

Camembert Salad with Jambon Serrano--€9.

Salade Exotique (avocado, grapefruit, potato, asparagus, smoked salmon with raspberry vinaigrette)--€14.

The restaurants was known for La Parillade--grilled seafood--€30. It included scallops, prawns, tuna and cod. We substituted another of the restaurant specialty l'alose for the cod. L'alose was a fish that had been cooked for 10 hours in a wine sauce. It was dry and tasted just okay.

Entree for the Menu "Retour du Marche" (Return from the Market)--€22 for 2 courses, €25 for 3 courses was a Mesclun Salad with Saumon Fume (smoked salmon) et Artichaute Marines (marinated artichokes).

One of the options for the main course was L'erglat de Veau.

Dessert was a Coconut and Chocolate Tart.

Mignardise of ice cream with strawberry sauce and chocolates.
