It's located near the Vatican.
Address is Via di Santa Maria alle Fornaci, 8. I made reservations but if you arrive when the restaurant opens at 7pm, you should be able to get a table. The clientele was a mix of tourists and locals. For €40, you get what is served that night. It includes free water and wine.
Crispy flatbread was delivered after we ordered. This reminded me of the Indian Pappadam.
You had a choice of meat or fish and not everyone at the table has to order the same. The meat started with a platter of prosciutto, salami and mozzarella cheese.
If you chose the meat, you got cacio e pepe,
ravioli
and a platter of grilled meat.
The Fish option started with octopus ceviche.
Terrine of imitation crab.
Anchovies in vinegar.
Raw oysters
Octopus stew
Deep fried baby octopus
Steamed mussels
Shrimp risotto
Spaghetti con Vongole
Grilled fish of the day
Scampi & calamari
For both the meat and fish, you got a palate cleanser after the prime was served.
Dessert was fruit
and a tart.
You also got limoncello.
Definitely, the Fish was the better option. Overall, it was good food but not knock-your-sock-off.
