Turda is a small town with a population of less than 50,000.
There's a central plaza with street parking. On Sunday, parking was free.
The obligatory statue of Avram Iancu.
It was pretty sleepy on Sunday and most of the shops were closed.
We found Gigi Covrigi on the main street and it was thankfully open. We had heard this was a good chain found throughout Romania and we weren't disappointed.
We got a cheese (2 lei=$0.47), a twist pretzel (2.5 lei), salami (4 lei), ham (4 lei) and apple strudel (3 lei), The savories were like calzones and the sweets were in puff pastry. So good and such a cheap lunch.
