Jhiben is a hot springs area. There are many hotels and resorts with hot springs facilities. I wasn't able to find any public pools.
Jhiben is also known for its recreational forest. Public transportation is limited so we took a taxi to the Jhiben Recreational Forest for NT100 ($3). Entry to the forest was NT80 ($2.67). on weekdays and NT100 ($3) on weekends.
There are many trails and we chose the Banyan Shielded Trail
Encouragement on the trail that we were getting close.
Our goal was the Banyan with 100 Roots.
You'll find monkeys in the park--they're easy to find.
There were signs for barking deer but we didn't see any deer.
After touring the forest, we were able to take a bus back to the train station for NT46. From there, we walked to town.
We walked around and found stands selling sausage stuffed intestine for NT30.
Fried chicken for NT30 with yam fries.
We sat down in a restaurant and had seafood chow mein
and fishball soup for total of NT90 ($3)
