At the California border, there is an informative display on Route 66, maintained by the Bureau of Land Management.
From I-40, take Park Moabi Rd, Exit 153. Turn left and you'll reach the end of the road. You'll come upon a rubble of rocks at a bridge-less gully.
Retrace your steps and you'll pass Pirate Cove Resort, which has cabins and sites for RVs right on the Colorado River. We saw pirate ships and a water playground. In addition to water activities, there are off-road activities.
Don't miss the Route 66 sign
before ending at the PG&E Compressor Station.
There are 3 bridges, one of which is the Old Trails Bridge. It currently supports a pipeline.
Drive over the Colorado River and enter Arizona.
Welcome to Arizona, the Grand Canyon State.
Look how cheap gas is in Arizona.
