I had read about Messinn Grandi.
They have a lunch buffet for 2300 ISK. There is no dessert but coffee or tea is included. The buffet is served 7 days a week.
The leek soup was delicious but a little on the salty side. The rolls were delicious as was the rye bread.
There was a salad, potatoes and 5 different fish dishes--Arctic Char, Cod in mushroom sauce, Fish Gills (the server said it was the cheek but there was a lot of it and the cheek is usually a tiny portion so I was leery of the translation), Plaice (flounder) and Redfish. There was also Plokkfiskur--a dish with fish, potatoes, onions and béchamel sauce. The buffet was quite good and a great bargain since the fish of the day at most restaurants was 1900 ISK.
There is also a dinner buffet for 4950 ISK. We didn't get a chance to have the dinner buffet so I'm not sure what's included.
