The Grand Tasting was located at Pioneer Courthouse Square from 1-5 pm.
Tickets were $75. It's a food & drink festival with a charitable mission to end hunger.
Walk around to different tables to sample food & drinks--all included in the admission price. You get a wine glass to use for the event but not to keep. We got a bag from New Seasons, which was convenient to carry the swag given out. If you have a wine glass holder, bring it. It makes balancing food & drink much easier.
Bon Appetit was one of the sponsors and they had chef interviews. This was Alvin Cailan from The Usual, New York. He started his career in Oregon.
Ginger Smash--ginger ale with a kick.
Pears with Sea 'n Red Smoked Cheddar and Prosciutto Fondue.
Rogue Creamery was there with a big cheese display.
Spicy Gazpacho
This was the best dish--Poached Egg Yolk, Onion Puree and Furikake by Mas.
Sweet Potato Dumpling, Charred Corn Slaw, Crisp Pork in Saffron Broth. This was my least favorite--the texture was weird and the onion was overpowering.
Caprese Bruschetta.
Yukon Gold Potato with Creme Fraiche Blini with Smoked Steelhead Roe by Stoller. They paired this with their Dundee Hills Chardonnay.
Double Smoked Bacon Rillette, Marionberry Gastrique, Corn Cake prepared by The Waiting Room.
Chicken Meatballs.
Black Rabbit Paella with Calamari, Wild Prawns, Squid Ink and Saffron Aioli by Crown Paella. My 2nd favorite.
Nicky Farms Wild Hawaiian Venison, Toasted Chile, Cacao Gel, Mt. Hood Apples.
Red Mill Popcorn with Cinnamon Sugar Topping.
Woodblock Chocolate
Cruffins from Twisted--croissant muffins.
White Chocolate Cremeux, Raspberry Cream, Oatmeal Streusel by The Waiting Room
Apple Butter Ice Cream with Molasses Cookies by Ruby Jewel.
Petunia's gluten free cupcakes
Petunia's gluten free cookies
Williams Sonoma hosted a demonstration kitchen. There were 3 demonstrations. Get in line early to get a sample.
Another of the demonstrations. This was a Mexican spicy beef sandwich with Bahn Mi slaw.
There were a lot of wineries and cider houses.
Frozen Pinot Slushee--so good.
