Walking around the Pearl District in downtown Portland, we found Zaatar, a Lebanese restaurant, located at 1037 NW Flander Street. They have Happy Hour from 2-5pm, just in time for a late lunch.
Ultimate Cosmos--$5. Stoli Citros vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice. This was very good and despite Happy Hour wasn't watered down.
Pita bread--light and fluffy and delicious.
Hummus--fresh cooked chickpeas mashed with fresh garlic, lemon juice and tahini, drizzled with EVOO. This was very creamy but at $5, a little pricey.
Tabouli--Lebanese salad of fresh parsley, bulgur, tomatoes, onion, fresh squeezed lemon juice and EVOO. Refreshing but a small portion for $5.
Pumpkin Kibbe--Pumpkin mixed with bulgur, stuffed with onions and spinach. Served with hummus and all for $5.
Arnabeet--Cauliflower florets, flash fried and served with tahini--$5. This was delicious. Not greasy at all.
