Orenchi Ramen

Orenchi Ramen is one of my favorite ramen places. It's located at 3540 Homestead in Santa Clara. The line can get long, so we got there 20 minutes before it opened. Little did we know that you can show up when the crew arrived at 10:30 am and put your name on the list. By the time we arrived, we were already on the 2nd column. We were seated at 12:10 pm--1 hour after we arrived.

Karaage--Fried Chicken. $4 for 3 or $7 for 6 pieces. This was slightly overcooked. The coating was crisp but just a tad too crunchy. The meat was juicy but I prefer the chicken with lemongrass sauce at Yummy Yummy.

Orenchi Ramen--$9. The tonkatsu broth was very flavorful. Today, it was a tad too salty though. The pork was tender, the egg was perfectly soft boiled ...

and, the noodles were the best part. Just the right amount of chewiness.
