9/11 Memorial and Museum

The site of the Twin Towers is now the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. It tells the events of 9/11 and is a tribute to the nearly 3000 people who died in the twin towers, Pentagon and Flight 93. Tickets to the museum are $24 and you can purchase them up to 3 months in advance for a timed admission. Free admission on Tuesdays after 5 pm.

We arrived before the museum opened at 9 am on a Friday morning and there weren't many people there. We were able to get tickets without any problems.

It's the last stop on the "E" train.

One World Trade Center, near the site of the Twin Towers, is now the tallest building in the western hemisphere. It stands at 1776 feet.

You can take a 60-minute guided tour for $18 or download a free app onto your phone that takes you on a tour through the museum. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to tour the museum and it was a quick walkthrough. This is the wall of Missing Person posters.
