Au Bistrot is located at 61 place des Capuchins, a 10 minute walk from our hotel.
I reserved the counter so I could see the happenings in the very small kitchen.
This was one of our entrees (starter in France). It's Rillette d'oie (goose rillette)--€7. This was amazing and a huge portion. Rillette is typically made with pork, duck or goose. It's cubed, slowly cooked in fat until tender then shredded.
Salade de Boudin Noir--€8. This is blood sausage and it was delicious as well.
Joue de Boeuf--€21. Braised beef cheeks--so tender.
Magret de Canard--€24. Duck breast--another delicious dish, perfectly prepared medium rare.
The best thing about dining out in France is that the price already includes tax and tip. What you see if what you pay. We had 2 glasses of wine each, to pair with our dishes and they were €5-7 each. This was a good start to our dining extravaganza for the next 2 weeks.
