Reata Grill, DFW

We just returned from Madrid and Lanzarote. We love traveling off season and this was a great trip. Although it was on the chilly side (high of 50 degrees), it was clear and sunny.

We had a 3-hour layover in DFW. We usually eat BBQ but this time we decided to eat at Reata Grill and we loved it.

DFW, near Gate D33

Bowl of Tortilla Soup--Light Chicken Broth with Chicken, Monterey Jack, Diced Jalapeno, Avocado, Fresh Lime, sprinkled with Crispy Tortilla Chips and Cilantro--$6.99. This was delicious! The broth was so flavorful and the soup was hearty enough to be an entree.

Tenderloin Tamales--Two Hand-Rolled Tamales Stuffed with Beef Tenderloin, Cilantro, Cumin, and Pico de Gallo with Pecan Pesto, Sun Dried Tomato Cream Sauce and Creme Fraiche. Served with Western Rice and Ranch Beans--$12.79. My husband loved this. The masa was flavorful.

Fish Tacos--Shiner Beer Battered Tilapia, Shredded Lettuce, Pico de Gallo & Avocado in Soft Flour Tortillas, served with Western Rice and Ranch Beans--$12.99. The fish can also be grilled. This was delicious.

I don't like beans so I asked for a substitute and got a side salad. This was definitely better than beans.
