A Foodie Tour

Tainan is a foodie haven. Walk along the streets and you'll find all kinds of delicious food.




Steamed cakes with hot sauce.


Stewed duck tongue.


Oyster omelet--this is one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes. I love the small oysters, gelatinous batter and the sweet and spicy sauce on top.


Fried oysters.


Taro root ice cream with caramelized peanuts in a lumpia wrapper. So good.


Back in Kaohsiung, we went to a night market and found more food.


Pork-stufffed sausage wrapped inside rice-stuffed sausage.


Fish ball soup--so refreshing and light. These were stuffed with meat.


Steamed rice stuffed with meat and egg.


Water dumplings stuffed with ground pork.

I just realized a lot of Taiwanese food is stuffed with something else.
