Taroko Silk Place Hotel

The Silks Place Hotel is THE hotel to stay in Taroko National Park.

It's a five-star resort and you get so spoiled. A driver was already waiting for us at the train station  when our train pulled up. Our train was on time. He drove us to the resort, which took over an hour. This was included in the 3-day/2-night package we purchased. We also got 2 breakfast, 1 lunch, 2 dinners and 1/2 day tour. I looked up the current price on their website and it's NT 9199 ($306)/person. Expensive for Taiwan but inexpensive compared to what you would pay in other countries.

The rooms are large and we chose one with a view of the gorge.

The bathrooms were modern and we had a spa tub.

More amenities than you need, including toothbrushes, shaver and combs.

The resort is very modern.

Beautiful infinity pool. When we were there in early December, there was hardly anyone there.

Hot tubs

and lounge chairs.

The gorge is illuminated at night. Unfortunately, my picture does not do it justice.

Dinner one night was served course by course. We started with appetizers.

Deep Fried Prawns with Mayonnaise.

Braised Scallops with XO Sauce

Soft Shell Crab

Rock Candy Ribs

Steamed Fish with Tofu

Hot Chinese options.

Jook and green onion pancakes for breakfast.

Lunch was served by courses. Starter of salad with shrimp.

Bento-style lunch, but fancier since it's a 5-star resort.
