Walter Hansel Wine & Bistro

We had dinner with a new friend at Walter Hansel Wine & Bistro this week. It's located at 3535 Guerneville Road in Santa Rosa.


Amuse Bouche--Cucumber Gelee with Yogurt & Toasted Cumin Seeds. It was cool & refreshing with a tanginess from the yogurt. 


My favorite dish at Walter Hansel and one that I always order. Confit Duck Gizzards Salad for $10.25
Frisée, bacon “lardons,” trumpet mushrooms, coddled organic egg, bacon vinaigrette.


Grain of Paradise Liberty Farm Duck Breast for $25.
Celeriac puree, compressed Frog Hollow Farm peach, fingerling potatoes, hibiscus gastrique, Chanterelle mushrooms. The duck was prepared medium rare and delicious.

She's a sommelier and chose a bottle of Dumol Russian River Valley 2010 Pinot Noir for $75. It was amazing.
