Around the Island of Folegandros

After lunch, we had just a few hours of daylight left and took the scooter on a quick tour of the island of Folegandros.

Folegandros is a small island--only 12 km x 4 km. There are few roads so it's difficult to get lost. We left Hora and traveled north. The island is barren with little vegetation but the views are beautiful. It's a quiet island with few tourists and we hardly saw anyone on the road.

There are quiet beaches

with crystal clear water

Just outside of Hora is a steep, zigzag road that leads to the Panagia or church of the Virgin. We walked up the road and it took less than 10 minutes to get to the church.

Just outside the church, there was a Geocache, which was out in the open.

Entry to the church.
