It's expensive to stay in downtown Vancouver. I found Sutton Place Hotel, which was one of the more reasonable hotels but still $250/night (US dollars).
Sutton Place Hotel is located at 845 Burrard Street.
Our room had a view of the Fairmont, just 1 block away.
The hotel had an indoor pool
and jacuzzi.
There is a gym and a small sundry store in the building.
