Dinard

Dinard is just on the other side of St. Malo. You can take a 10-min ferry across the bay or drive all the way around in 30 minutes.

Dinard is a seaside resort with beautiful cliffside homes.

The attraction in town is the beach but take a tour of the town. We found this fountain in honor of Jules Verne. Not sure how Jules Verne is associated with Dinard--he was born in Nantes and died in Amiens.

Nearby the fountain is a bakery

where we picked up kouign amann for €2.10. These were great--just the right amount of caramelization.

They also had Far Breton--€2.10. Far Bretons are traditional cakes from Brittany. They're similar to clafoutis with a soft core.

My favorites were the Ficelle with Lardon & Emmental for €2.30. These were bread sticks with bacon and cheese. Yum!
