Maison de la Roche aux Fees

On the way to Saumur, we came upon la Roche aux Fees. It translate into the Fairies' Rock and it was thought that the stones were placed here by fairies.

We arrived there early in the day and the ticket office was not open. The grounds were open and we just walked around.

The rocks form a dolmen (a Neolithic grave), one of the largest in Brittany.

The stones form a passageway that is longer than it is wide and the structure is divided into 2 rooms.

It's hidden amongst the trees.

On the premises are carved stones. Hard to believe that these are from 3000 BC.
