Cracker Barrel

After reaching Kingman, we were starving and found Cracker Barrel. We had trouble ordering online but ordering inside for takeout was fast.

Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant serving homey food since 1969. You'll also find a general store within. At last count, there are 660 restaurants in 45 states. It's publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

Signature rocking chairs outside the restaurant.

Chicken & Dumpling with 1 side, biscuit or cornbread--$5.99 between 10:30 am and 4 pm. I chose the Mac & Cheese, which was good but not the best I've had. The chicken chunks were tender and the dumplings were the flat kind.

The other special for lunch was Meatloaf with mashed potatoes & gravy--$5.99. The meatloaf had too much onion in it. The fried okra side was good.

Both the buttermilk biscuit and corn muffin were quite good.
