Kingman

Kingman, Arizona is a city of 30,000 on Route 66.

The Kingman Powerhouse Visitor Center was a former power-generating station started in 1906. It now houses the Arizona Route 66 Museum and Visitor's Center. The powerhouse generated the power for the building of the Hoover Dam.

The Locomotive Park is located across the street. It features a Santa Fe steam locomotive and a caboose.

Engine #3759 traveled over 2 1/2 million miles during its service from 1929 until 1957.

On the eastern edge of town, you'll find water towers decorated with the locomotive.

On the eastern edge of town, you'll find several iconic motels, including the Arcadia Lodge,

El Trovatore Motel

and Hill Top Motel. Too bad we weren't there at night when the neon signs are lit.
