Wine & Food Affair on the Wine Road

This weekend was the Wine and Food Affair on the Wine Road in Sonoma County. Over 100 wineries in Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valley paired their perfect wine with a favorite recipe. Purchase a ticket for both Saturday and Sunday for $70 and receive a cookbook, tasting glass and wristband. Sunday only tickets are $50 and you receive the same items. Designated Driver tickets are $30 and they receive a cookbook.

It was a gorgeous weekend--sunny and high 70s to low 80s. We were designated to pick up our items at the Kendall Jackson Wine Center.

Lovely outdoor seating just outside the winery

We presented our e-mail confirmation, showed our ID and were banded.

This was the cookbook we received--wished there were pictures of the dishes but that may be asking too much. I was impressed with the quality of the cookbook though.

Bring the glass with you to each winery.

Kendall Jackson was pairing Kobe Tri Tip Sandwiches with Cabernet-Braised Red Cabbage and Blue Cheese-Buttermilk Dressing with 2005 Highland Estates Hawkeye Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. This was so good! I just loved the blue cheese-buttermilk dressing.

Caramel Corn paired with 2007 Grand Reserve Late Harvest Chardonnay.
