Fig Cafe

Saturday, we drove back to Glen Ellen and went to the Fig Café for their $19 3-course dinner for Sonoma County Restaurant Week.

The Fig Cafe is located at 13690 Arnold Drive in Glen Ellen. They don't take reservations and when we arrived 15 minutes before they opened, there was a line out the door. There is no corkage at the Fig Café.

The Soup of the day was Asparagus Soup with Asparagus Salsa Verde. It was $6.50 and we ordered one to try. This was creamy but wasn't overloaded with cream.

Café Caesar Salad with Garlic Croutons. Tasty but nothing special. It was crisp but didn't have much anchovy flavor.

Prosciutto & Petit Agour Stuffed Chicken Breast served with Piquillo Pepper & Caramelized Onion Polenta & Braised Greens. The chicken skin was crisp and the chicken had nice flavor. It was tender enough but could have been a little more so. The polenta was very tasty.

Persimmon Cake, Caramel Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream--the caramel sauce had a little bit of saltiness which provided just the right accompaniment to the persimmon cake.
