Las Viandas

Back to Spain...After touring Escorial Palace, we walked around the town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Since this was off-season, it was deserted. There was one restaurant in town that had a few people in it and we decided to give it a try. It was a nice white-tablecloth lunch.

Las Viandas--3 course menu del dia with bread for €11.50. It's located at Plaza de la Constitucion.

Loved the roll--soft on the inside and crispy on the outside

One of the choices for the first course--penne with chorizo sauce. Delicious.

Another choice for the first course--salad with tuna, egg, olives, tomatoes and cheese

2nd course--salmon. Well prepared and tasty.

Merluza with wine sauce--hard to believe such a nice entrée was part of a 3-course €11.50 menu

Dessert--tiramisu mousse. Loved it. Great flavor.

Chocolate mousse--rich and full of chocolate flavor.
