Le Pigeon

We got reservations at Le Pigeon for dinner. It's known as the restaurant that put Portland on the national culinary map, according to Bon Appetit. It was a James Beard Award winner for outstanding chef in 2017.

It's located at 738 E. Burnside St.

There's seating at the bar, some small tables but also larger tables for communal seating. We ordered the 5-course tasting menu--$95. It was inclusive of service. There's no tax in Oregon.

Hamachi & Geoduck Crudo with Strawberry Horseradish Sorbet, Piquillo Crema, Lime & Daikon.

Foie Gras Teriyaki, Duck & Matcha Fried Rice, Mango, Soy Roasted Onions

Fried Egg Ravioli, Fava Bean, Spring Onion, Maitake Mushroom, Parmesan Butter

Honey Glazed Lamb Shoulder, Walnut & Feta Pasta Salad, Lamb Belly, Curried Apricot Ketchup, Spring Onion

Black Lime Angel Food Cake

Foie Gras Profiterole--their signature dish. This was very rich.

Mignardise--Chocolate with gooey caramel interior.

Dinner was good but to tell you the truth, nothing was too memorable except the foie gras profiterole. That was very rich though and not something you can eat regularly.
