The fish looked pretty fresh. Prices are given in kg (equal to 2.2 lbs) and were reasonable so we bought 1/2 kg of ling cod for ISK 1151 (roughly $11/lb). We turned it into fish soup after getting some leeks, onions, canned tomatoes and fish bouillon from the grocery store. A loaf of French bread completed the meal.
The next morning I walked to Braud & Co, a bakery just 5 minute walk away.
They're known for cinnamon rolls but in the morning, only cinnamon croissants were available.
The cinnamon croissants, as well as their morning buns were burnt. They still tasted pretty good. Costly though at ISK 490 each.
