Albi

From Cordes-sur-Ciel, it was 25 km and 27 min to Albi.

Saint  Cecilia Cathedral is the largest brick cathedral in the world. You can see it from a distance before you arrive in Albi.

There was a celebration with dignitaries and military personnel at the Monument aux Morts when we arrived.

The Grand Theatre des Cordeliers is covered in gilded copper mesh.

The Saint Cecilia Cathedral is a fortified castle from the outside and a rich palace inside with decorations dating back to the 15th century.

The entry is impressive.

It's free to walk inside the cathedral but it'll cost €2 to see the Grand Choir and Treasury.

Albi also has a Toulouse-Lautrec museum. The artist was born in Albi in 1864. Entrance to the museum costs €9. Off-season, the museum is closed from noon-2 pm, so plan accordingly.

We had lunch on the streets. Ham & cheese crepe (€4) and nutella crepe (€2).
