Ivy Chelsea Garden

We had Afternoon Tea at hoity toity Fortnum & Mason and wanted to try Afternoon Tea someplace a little more simple.

I found The Ivy Chelsea Garden after doing some research. It sure was decked out in Christmas decor--so much for something more simple.

It's located at 195-197 King's Road in Chelsea.

You could get Cream Tea for £7.95. It included fruit scones, Dorset clotted cream, strawberry preserve and tea or coffee. Their scones were good but the scones at Fortnum & Mason were better.

Afternoon Tea included pastries, sandwiches and the Cream Tea for £21.50. The pastries were Raspberry Tarte Tropezienne, Potted Chocolate and Caramel (served in a clay flower pot) and Blackberry & Champagne Trifle. 

The sandwiches included Truffled Chicken Brioche Roll, Marinated Cucumber & Dill Finger Sandwich on Basil Bread and Lobster & Prawn on Beetroot Bread.

Their tea came in bags instead of loose leaf. Afternoon Tea at The Ivy was good enough but if you only have time to experience one Afternoon Tea, I recommend splurging at Fortunum & Mason to have the full experience.
