West End Shows

We saw a total of 3 West End Shows during our week in London.

Wicked played at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. I had seen Wicked in San Francisco but this was a much better production. The cast was excellent, especially Elphaba. We got TKTS tickets in row M, center orchestra for £46.

Everybody's Talking About Jaime played at the Apollo Theatre. We got TKTS tickets in row J, center orchestra for £48. I couldn't understand the production for the first 15 minutes because the accent was so strong. I felt I needed supra titles.

& Juliet was a new West End production, which premiered while we were in town. It played at the Shaftesbury Theatre. I purchased tickets online 4 months before our trip. Tickets were £73 for row J, center orchestra.

& Juliet is the story of Juliet after Romeo dies and Juliet decides not to commit suicide. It follows her  on a journey to Paris where she searches for herself. The musical is set to Max Martin's pop tunes, which are very catchy.

The actors had powerful voices and I especially liked Anne Hathaway's character. Juliet had a great voice but unfortunately, she didn't draw you into the play.
