National Gallery

The National Gallery is found in Trafalgar Square. It's definitely worth a visit, especially since admission is free.

One of the most famous paintings in the National Gallery is the Arnolfini Wedding (also called Arnolfini Portrait) by Jan van Eyck.

On first look, it appears that the woman is pregnant. However, this look was fashionable for women of the time. More cloth indicated more wealth.

Look at the mirror behind the couple. You can spy the artist.

The Manchester Madonna by Michelangelo is an unfinished painting.

Rembrandt's Belshazzar's Feast. The inscription on the wall prophesizes Belshazzar's downfall.

The Umbrellas by Renoir.

Klimt's Portrait of Hermine Gallia, painted in 1904.

Degas' After the Bath, a Woman Drying Herself.

Unfortunately, the rooms with Monets, Seurats & van Goghs were under renovation and wasn't visible. I'll have to make another trip!
