Le Gustalin, Dole

From Eguisheim, it was a 205 km and 2-hour drive to Dole. We had lunch at Le Gustalin. I had made a reservation and even though we arrived over an hour late, they still accommodated us.

Le Gustalin is located at 1-3 Rue Antoine Brun. Good thing we had a GPS in the car because it would have been difficult to find. We parked on the street, where parking was free during lunch until 2 pm.

We ordered the 2-course "formule midi"--lunch menu for €12.50. We would have ordered the 3-course lunch for  €14.90 but we ate so late, we decided to skip dessert. One of the starters was a tarte au fromage with green salad.

The other starter was Terrine de Queue de Boeuf--this was like a head cheese but it was made of oxtail. It was delicious and I was excited about getting the main course.

Roti de porc (roast pork) with chorizo and a pepper sauce over pasta . I could tell just by looking at it that it would be dry and sure enough, it was. What a disappointment. If only they had brined it ...
