Wine & Food Event

We interrupt our French adventure to bring you this year's Wine & Food Event. This, in my opinion, is the best event on the Wine Road in Sonoma County. Visit your choice of over 100 wineries and taste their signature wines with a food pairing. Tickets for the 2-day event is $80.93, including service fee and taxes. If you are the designated driver, it's $35.25 and you get non-alcoholic drinks and the food pairings.

It's a tradition for us to start at the Downtown Bakery in Healdsburg and pick up a sticky bun for $2.50.

Pick up your wristband and a wine glass at the winery you choose. No cookbook or calendar this year.

This year, we chose to start at the Locals Tasting Room in Geyserville. Ten wineries share a tasting room and they were serving Beef Short Ribs with Hoison and Asian Slaw. I was the Designated Driver so I got a mug and paired my ribs with a Coke.

Right next door was Mercury Wine. They served Brad's Award Winning Dry Rub Ribs. This was the best dish of the day.

Ramazzotti Wines served Tuscan Style Sausage, White Bean and Kale Stew.

Peche Merle Winery has a beautiful new tasting room in Geyserville.

They served Mole Chicken with a Jicama Slaw.
