Gravenstein Grill

Monday night was Gravenstein Grill. They didn't post their menu until the week before so it was the right one. Gravenstein Grill is located at 8050 Bodega Ave in Sebastopol. Dinner was $39 and the optional wine pairing was $25/person.

One of the choices for the "First Bite" was Braised Wild Mushroom Risotto--Wild Foraged Black Trumpet Mushrooms & Chanterelles, Porcini Jus and Parmesan. This was so good. The risotto was cooked pretty well--just a shade beyond al dente but the porcini jus was so rich. Other options for the first bite were Avocado Toast--this was a tiny serving and Applewood Smoked Trout. I think this was the best choice.

Next course was soup or salad. The soup for the night was Potato and Leek. This was very good.

The salad was Blue Leg Farm's Lettuces, DMS Ranch Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette, Sonoma Goat Cheese, Toasted Hazelnut. I couldn't taste the vinaigrette but the salad was still good.

,
California Wild-Caught Petrale Sole, Creme Fraiche and Chive Potato Puree, DMS Ranch Meyer Lemon Beurre Blanc, Green Beans. The sole was so good and the beurre blanc was delicious. The potato puree was rich with the creme fraiche.

Liberty Duck Confit--Sonoma Duck Leg, Herbed Spaetzle, Braised Red Cabbage, Red Currant Gastrique. This was so good. The duck was so tender and the cabbage was delicious. I always love spaetzle and this did not disappoint.
