Sazon

Back to Restaurant Week in Sonoma County...

Next up, Sazon for Sunday lunch. It's located at 1129 Sebastopol Road. They offered a 2-course lunch for $15.

When we were presented the Restaurant Week menu, I noticed that the entrees were different than what was listed on the Sonoma County Restaurant Week site. I was looking forward to the Aji de Gallina and it was not on the menu. I asked the waiter if he could check with the chef to see if they could include the Aji de Gallina and fortunately, the answer was "yes." I chose the Beef Picadillo Empanada as my first course and the Aji de Gallina as the entree. It's pulled chicken stew in aji amarillo cream sauce, Yukon gold potato, hard boiled egg, walnuts served with Jasmine rice. The beef picadillo was salty but tasty and the Aji de Gallina was delicious. The pickled red onions were also quite good.

Fried Tilapia was one of the other options. This was just a piece of fried fish. It was moist but there wasn't much else to it. It did come with pickled red onions as well.
