Market Streets & Man Mo Temple

After our snack break, we wandered the alleys.

On Graham Street, there are stalls selling fruits, vegetables, tofu and dried cooking ingredients. The market has been in existence for over 200 years but there's talk of closing it down to make way for hotels and apartments.

At the dai pai dongs (outdoor food stalls), grab a bite to eat.

On other streets, you'll find butchers selling all kinds of animal products,

including a whole pig head.

Continuing west, we stumbled upon Pak Tsz Lane Park.

It's a monument celebrating the late 19th century revolutionary anti-Qing Dynasty activity of the  Furen Literary Society and the Hong Kong chapter of the Revive China Society

We arrived at the Man Mo Temple to find scaffolding. This is one of Hong Kong's oldest temple and there is no admission charge.

There is a beautiful tree outside. It's blossoms are year-round because it's an artificial tree.

Inside, incense coils hang from the ceiling.

The temple is dedicated to the God of Literature (wielding a pen, on the right) and the God of War (wielding a sword, on the left)
