Tsim Sha Tsui & the Star Ferry

The Sheraton is located in Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon. You have the option of taking MTR across the bay to Hong Kong Island or riding the Star Ferry.

On the way to the Star Ferry terminal, you'll pass the former Kowloon Canton Railway Clock Tower. The tower was built in 1915 and was the southern terminus of the Kowloon Canton Railway.

The ride from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island takes 15 minutes. From Kowloon, hop on the correct ferry--you can go to Pier #7 in Central or to Wan Chai. It only costs HK$2.70 each way (compared to HK$10 by MTR). You can pay with cash--buy a token at the machines OR use your Octopus card.

Tsim Sha Tsui has numerous modern shopping malls. This is iSquare, located on Nathan Road. You'll find Harbour City near the Star Ferry, China Hong Kong City just north of Harbour City and Silvercord near the Kowloon Park.

The Tsim Sha Tsui East Promenade with the Avenue of Stars was under renovation when we visited in October. Construction should be completed by the end of 2018.
