Victoria Peak

At 552m, Victoria Peak is the highest point on Hong Kong Island.

To reach the peak, you can hike, take a bus or catch the Peak Tram. The Peak Tram terminus is in Central, near Hong Kong Park.

The Peak Tram, Asia's first cable funicular, has been in operation since 1888. HK$52 will get you a roundtrip ride. HK$99 will get you the roundtrip ride and admission to the Sky Terrace, an outdoor viewing area.

The Peak Tram takes 7-8 minute to reach the top. The bus takes over an hour but costs less than HK$10 each way.

Either way, you'll disembark at the Peak Tower, a shopping and dining complex. Take the escalators to the top of the Peak Tower and emerge onto the Sky Terrace.

You'll get a 360 degree view of Hong Kong from the Sky Terrace. There is a free viewing area in the Peak Tower but the view is limited

The Peak Tower has 4 restaurants, including Bubba Gump Restaurant & Bar. In addition, there's a dim sum restaurant, a Pizza restaurant and a Japanese restaurant. The Peak Tower also has several fast food places, including a Burger King and several shops.

Construction is underway at the peak to build a new shopping galleria.
