Tin Hau Temple

On the way back to the Sheraton, we got off in Yau Ma Tai to shop on Shanghai Street. The street is lined with stores selling all kinds of kitchenware. We were in search of steamers with holes on the sides but never found them.

We stumbled onto Tin Hau Temple, one of Hong Kong's most famous temples. It was built in the 19th century to honor Tin Hau, the Goddess of the Sea.

Incense coils hang from the ceiling and the place can get pretty smoky.
