Singapore MRT

The MRT in Singapore is so clean, efficient and easy to use. There are English signs everywhere. To locate the correct exit, look on a map for the exit number to use.

Buy an EZLink Card for S$12 ($8.85). S$5 is the non-refundable deposit and you're left with S$7 to use for travel. You can top up at any time. We were there for 3 days and we needed S$5 extra. The rides are less than S$1 each but Singapore is such a large city that you really need it to get from sight to sight. You can get a refund for any portion that is not used but you can't get a refund for the S$5 deposit.

The alternative is to buy individual tickets but that's too cumbersome. Plus, you do get a slight discount for rides with the EZLink Card.
