Hotels in Havana

Hotels in Havana are surprisingly expensive for a country that is in such economic turmoil--up to $300-$400/night. Here are a few.

Hotel Florida--located in Habana Vieja. It's a very convenient location--in the center of the old town. If the missing letter is any indication, the hotel may need some upkeep.

The courtyard was beautiful though.

Hotel Saratoga is across from the Capitol.

Bar area in Hotel Saratoga

View from the rooftop bar. I'd recommend going there for a drink at dusk. Drinks weren't too expensive. Mojitos were 5 CUC.

Hotel Inglaterra is on Paseo de Marti, just on the outskirt of Habana Vieja.

Hotel Nacional de Cuba--near the Malecon.

In Vedado & Miramar, there are a lot of modern, high-rise hotels but they're too far to walk to the historic center. Hotel Riviera is near a small beach.

Melia Cohiba is set back about a block from the beach.

Hotel Presidente is an older hotel located on the Avenida de los Presidentes. It's far from the beach and from most tourist attractions. Judging by the number of people who boarded the bus from this hotel, it was popular.

Copacabana is a much older hotel located in Miramar. Yes, this is the Copacabana Barry Manilow sang about.

H10 Habana Panorama--this was a beautiful glass-filled hotel. Didn't get to see the inside.
