PhoEver

Met some girlfriends in Sunnyvale and had dinner at PhoEver, located at 321 W. Washington Ave. It's an upscale Vietnamese restaurant. I like my ethnic food authentic and it's usually a hole-in-the-wall but I was willing to give this a try.

Tamarind Wings--$6. Crispy chicken wings tossed in sweet and tangy house--special tamarind sauce. I was not impressed. The sauce was just so-so. Not enough sweet or tangy.

Rare Beef with Beef Balls Pho--$11. The beef was filet mignon and very tender but it wasn't worth nearly double the usual cost of a bowl of pho. I'll go back to my hole-in-the-wall places.
