The 4-star hotel is in the center of town and faces the gulf of Trieste. It's part of the Starhotels collection. It was built in 1911 and has always been a hotel. There's valet parking at the hotel but we found free parking on a nearby street. Street parking is free from 8 pm to 8 am Mon-Sat, free all day Sunday. Wifi was free.
The public rooms are grand.

We were upgraded to a 2-room suite. I think it was because we arrived after 9 pm and were only staying 1 night. The bed was comfortable and the marble bathroom was luxurious.
Breakfast was included and it was quite a spread. There were hot items, cold cuts, fruit, cereals and a huge pastry offering.
