Hotel Nacional de Cuba

Hotel Nacional de Cuba is an impressive hotel set on a bluff above the Taganana Cave and with an expansive view of the sea. It was built by a US company.

In 1946, the hotel hosted the Havana Conference, an infamous mob summit run by Lucky Luciano, dramatized in The Godfather Part II.

It was built on the Santa Clara Battery and has 2 large coastal guns dating from the late 19th century.

There is a museum on the role of the hotel during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

From the Hotel Nacional, we walked to Calle 23 at Calle L and hopped on the HabanaBusTour back to Parque Central.
